“Visualizing poetry – The power of words and images”
by Eileen McCarney Muldoon & Olaf Willoughby, 2015

Hardcover book, over 50 poems and images, 9.5 x 8 x .75 inches, $65

“This book grew out of our love for poetry and photography. Poets like Rainer Maria Rilke and Kabir offer us a sense of the triumph and tragedy of life and conjure up strong mental images. Photography too offers powerful images. Everything from the decisive moment of Cartier Bresson to the edginess of Michael Ackerman.

As educators in creativity, we wondered how the photographic image might illuminate some of the deeper meanings locked in poetry. So we collaborated by selecting and sharing poems for each other, then visualising them photographically. The results were immediately exciting and took us on a journey through over fifty poems.

Reading a poem to illustrate it photographically is a very different experience to simply reading it in a book. It prednisone challenges our creative muscles, helps break through creative block and has left us both with a strong sense of growth as photographic artists. We invite you to join us in a visual celebration of the extra dimension that photography brings to these poems.”

“Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.”
– Kahlil Gibran
